Xmas in July Sale – Shipping Tour

This Saturday, July 23rd, everything in the TWW Store will be 25% OFF! So if you’ve been waiting to pick up that book, DVD, mug, hat, t-shirt, or anything else, now is a great time to do it! The sale is for one day only so don’t miss it! Check it out!

And instead of just doing a boring sales announcement video, I thought it would be fun to introduce you to the folks behind the scenes who make it all happen: my mom and step-dad. Without them, I am confident that we wouldn’t even have a store. There just isn’t enough time in the day for me and Nicole to fulfill the orders. I hope you enjoy!

Is that a cup of ice water sitting, without a coaster, on your wood desk top? Oh noooo!!

I’m not sure if this makes it worse or better, but that’s not wood. Its a commercial quality desk with a nearly bullet proof finish over laminate. I’m pretty sure I could throw the thing in a pool and it would be fine. :)

  3. Yea!! We love Mom and Arlie!!

  4. fun city.
you can take the girl out of joisey, but you can’t take the joisey out of the girl. Happy summer all.

I must say, for a company of such size, “all the women are strong, all the men are good looking, and all the children are above average.” :-)

A bit more seriously, thank you, Marc, for the excellent videos. I haven’t even got started with woodworking, but I’m seriously thinking about it as a way of working with my young son (he’ll be much better than me). You are helping to that end.

    Marc,

This was a great video. I really enjoyed meeting the family. Keep in mind “Good help is hard to find.” They deserve a raise!

Well, Happy Day After Christmas in July! Thank you all for the kind words and the tremendous response to our sale. Arlie and I will be quite busy for the next few days! We really do enjoy working with Marc and Nicole and this great community. And as far as we’re concerned, this expected grandchild is all the “pay back” we will ever need. We are sooooo excited for “its” arrival. TWWMom and Arlie

  9. Nice mail room setup! I like the card board brake/bender also. Looks like it could work for helping to slice it also. So nice you can be close to your family and they to you!

  10. Tom Pritchard July 24, 2011

I just ordered a few things from your sale. Nice operation. Looking forward to reading your book. I asked to see if marc could sign my book. I’m a big fan of your website. Hope to join the guild soon as I can swing it.
    Thanks
    Tom

  11. Mark,

Great Video, I find it very interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes of a business big or small. I have watched all your videos, I am 15 and i find them to be very interesting. I was Able to convince my parents to build me a wood shop underneath our garage, its about 11′x 25′ so its a little small but fully equipped with all new machinery. If you get a chance Please check out my website http://www.barrettescustomfurniture.com , I would be interested to see what you think of my shop, webpage, and last but not least my work :)

    Thank You!!

  12. Gary Bell July 25, 2011

Wow, That will teach me for not checking the website for a while. I would have definitely ordered a travel mug at the 25% off. Oh well, snooze you lose.

Anyway Marc, I wanted to tell you how much I like the Guild T shirt you just sold me! Just like you said in your email to me it is really nice. Everyone should buy one.
    Thanks
    Gary Bell

Very cool Marc. I’m impressed how quickly you’ve gone from producing a couple of basic woodworking videos to building a business. The web site, the Guild, the DVDs, the merchandise, classes, it’s quite a story. Best of all, you haven’t lost any of the humor and down-to-earth attitude.

  14. Dan M July 25, 2011

Too bad I missed this sale (on vaca.). I need a new TWW coffee mug. My old one became loose and water got under the insulated cup. Now it tips over easily but thats alright I’ll get one sooner than later.

  15. Jay July 25, 2011

Family businesses are the backbone of our economy. Thanks for the inside view of your shipping department.

  16. jersey mike July 25, 2011

why am I always busy for the good sales? Guess I’ll just have to settle for my guild discount. Definitely buying one of those new travel cups. The old DD cup is about to finally be retired.

  17. I missed the sale! :( Funny thing is I was watching this thinking I should get one of those long sleeve Tshirts and she says “people from downunder have been asking about them”. Glad to hear your looking after your Aussie mates.

Its freezing out in my workshop this time of year. People always think of Australia as a Sunny place full of beaches.
    I’m freezing!

  18. Sean July 26, 2011

Nice operation there. Marc, love the “Bazinga” shirt. A fellow BBT nerd.

  19. Mark July 26, 2011

Great Video and neat operation. I somehow missed hearing about it and unfortunately did not see the video posted until Monday! Oh well that apron I wanted will just have to wait until the Independence sale in December……..

  20. Sam July 27, 2011

“The boss allowed me!” ha ha that was funny. You slave master! :)

  23. Ken B August 12, 2011

Hey Marc , Great to see your shipping dept. A family affair . No better help can be found at any price. You are lucky to have such great support in your business.
