Project Description:
Solid 3/4″ oak, handcut through dovetails, purple heart splines. Solid 1/2″ oak tray with mitered purple heart splines, lined with rigid foam and felt. Spray lacquer finish. Solid brass hardware. Walnut coin display. There are sixteen total images burned by hand. Some of the pictures were provided by the customer during the recipient’s deployment to Iraq. Other pictures were picked by me for nostalgia and design. This is my most ambitious and complex project to date. This commission took over 50 hours to complete.

Wow, That’s honestly some of the best pyrography I’ve seen. It’s amazing that was done by hand because the quality rivals that of a laser. I really like the image choice and the quality of the build as well. I am now a bigger fan of pyrography!

I love good pyrography, and this one certainly fits the bill. I think I’d be tempted to put a handle on the top of the box, but that would break up the picture so beautifully done there. Nice work, Christopher!

Wow! Thank you guys for the kind words! This was my Big-Build for last year. It took a long while to design and complete, but the Marine loved it! The box is about 12″ tall, and 18″ by 10″ if I remember right.

Also, thank you Marc for posting my work!
