Dohnn’s Maloof-Inspired Music Stand

This is a piece I designed for one of the teachers at my son’s school. She needed a music stand or podium for her classroom. I have always liked the art nouveau/organic look of Sam Maloof’s work. When I asked what kind of wood she wanted, she said walnut so this is what came out. I was very happy overall with the piece. I particularly like the vertical adjustment as it is virtually invisible in it’s lowest position. I hope to make some other things in this style as time allows. Thanks for the encouragement and your websites. Three years ago when I first started making furniture, your website, Tommy Mac’s (before he went Hollywood) and Charles Neil’s really helped me learn a lot.
