The Wood Whisperer Guild Scholarship

OnlineScholarshipThe 2021 Guild Scholarship Application is now closed. The deadline is July 30, 2021, at 11:59 pm Eastern. Scholarship winners will be notified on or around August 20th, 2021.

The winners of the scholarships will receive membership into The Wood Whisperer Guild (our online woodworking school) and will have access to 3 projects of their choice (estimated value $300) to assist them in their woodworking journey. If you are interested in applying please fill out the application. Please note if you won a scholarship in the past (from 2016, 2019, or 2020) you will not be eligible for the scholarship. We have a total of 9 scholarships to award at this time.

We expect a large number of applicants, so please be patient as we review all of the entries. We anticipate announcing the recipients no later than the end of August on TheWoodWhisperer.com and will award scholarships in 3 categories: 18 & under, (student), 19 & older (adult), and Military (serving or vet). Who is eligible? Anyone that has a desire to learn woodworking.  Past winners do not qualify.

When is the application open and due? The 2021 application is now open (as of June 29th, 2021). The deadline is July 30, 2021, at 11:59 pm Eastern.

How do you evaluate the applications? We seek to award scholarships to candidates who are interested in improving their woodworking skills and career. As for the submission itself, we are also looking at your overall presentation. In this regard, we review and evaluate your past work and woodworking history, your vigor of expression, need, and passion for your topic.

How much should I write? You don’t have to write a lot, but please don’t just write one sentence. We really would like to get an idea of who you are and why you should receive this gift.

How do you announce the winner? Scholarship winners will be notified on or around Aug 20th, 2021. Winners will be announced on TheWoodWhisperer.com and directly to the winners via email.

What will the scholarship recipient receive? If selected the candidate will receive membership into The Wood Whisperer Guild (an online woodworking school) and will have access to 3 projects of their choice to assist them in their woodworking journey. Every project in the Guild includes the following: Detailed video instruction, plans and project support for your Guild project, Lifetime Membership to the Guild, access to Live Guild Meetings, access to a library of exclusive interviews with notable woodworkers, access to our exclusive Facebook group where you can connect with your fellow Guild members, industry discounts from popular vendors and of course email support directly from Marc.
