Long-time Guild member Peter Perrello informed me recently of his participation in the Comedy Central show, The Colbert Report. For those who aren’t familiar, the show satirizes conservative political pundit programs and is filled with tongue-in-cheek humor. The show is also intended for an adult audience due to the off-color humor, so just a little warning before you watch.
The clip is very interesting as it brings attention to the whole SawStop debacle. Pretty wild that the story hit mainstream media. But the real reason for me posting this is to give Peter a shout out. I think he did great and it was cool seeing his shop on a cable channel. And as tempting as it will be to get into a big SawStop debate, let’s not. :) I hear the dead horse whispering, “No mas! No mas!”
This is just too hard to ignore. I mean, the fact that this is getting into the main stream media now. We need to be careful about what message we send; there are millions of impressionable minds now tuning in. If we are not careful about what we send, people will start thinking the Guild and all “whispererites (I hereby trademark and lay claim to this term that nobody in their right minds will ever acknowledge)” are part of the majority / popular crowd.

Unfortunately, the Colber Repor is off of the air as of tonight, theoretically only temporarily. Could this be a conspiracy? SawStop is retaliating? To be continued…..

I’m all for good natured humor (and that clip is pretty funny), but I’ve seen so many posts go off-topic that I feel a little tired about the whole topic.
